PHI and the Material Testing PressPHI offers a variety of presses that are suitable for laboratory testing applications. Our material testing presses cater to a variety of industries. From biomedical material testing to plastics, composites, rubber, polymers and fatigue testing, our easy-to-operate material testing press can handle a variety of tasks. If you operate a material testing laboratory and you need a testing press that will adhere to the strict requirements of ASTM standards, PHI's material testing press delivers the goods. What Are ASTM Standards? The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) is a voluntary standards development organization that has been around since 1898. The ASTM developed from a collective of scientists and engineers who wanted to investigate the frequent rail breaks that were occurring in the upstart railroad industry. The efforts of this pioneering group led to a standardization of steel production processes used in the construction of railroad tracks.Today, the ASTM continues to set consensus standards for a variety of industries. There are over 30,000 ASTM members from 120 different countries actively developing standardization processes for everything from fiber optic cable installation to recreational aviation. The PHI Material Testing PressPHI is proud to produce a material testing press that adheres to the rigorous requirements of the ASTM. The PHI material testing press is equipped with heating and cooling platens and a digital controller that is fully programmable. The controller regulates the heating and cooling loop for each platen. The ASTM has very specific temperature requirements for material testing presses. Material testing laboratories that require tight tolerances with precise heat and range will appreciate the exactness of PHI's versatile material testing press. |
